Our Top 5 Isolation Reads
Our Top 5 Isolation Reads
When we are not busy working away or out surfing, you can usually find us at home with a good book in hand. These last two months of isolation have meant that we have all the time in the world to stay at home and get stuck back into our favourite books!
This week's Instagram giveaway topic was reflective of our love for books, and we asked our audience what books they have been reading. We've listed the top 5 books below:
#1. 'Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman Book' by Yvon Chouinard
#2. 'Scar Tissue' by Anthony Kiedis
In Scar Tissue, Kiedis delivers a compelling life story from a man "in love with everything" -- the darkness, the death, the disease. Even his descent into drug addiction was a part of that journey, another element transformed into art. This man has been through hell and back and rather than collapsing in a heap, he turned his trauma into some of the best music ever made.
#3. Snowing in Bali by Kathryn Bonella
Snowing in Bali is the story of the drug trafficking and dealing scene that's made Bali one of the world's most important destinations in the global distribution of narcotics. This book is gripping, addictive and eye-opening as it shows a side of Bali that we never knew about.
#4. Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke
The gems of insight in this tiny sliver of a book are invaluable. Not just for a poet, not just for a writer, but for anyone who seeks to plumb the depths of their own soul and create something true. To a young poet seeking his sage advice, Rilke offers words of immense beauty, depth and sincerity of heart.
#5. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Paulo Coelho's masterpiece tells the magical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure as extravagant as any ever found.
The story of the treasures Santiago finds along the way teaches us, as only a few stories can, about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life's path, and, above all, following our dreams.
One of the most inspiring books we own!
.....plus an extra 5 books, because if you're anything like us you've be reading a new book every few days!
#6. Loosing my Virginity by Richard Branson
#7. The Choice by Edith Egar
#8. Sapiens: A Brief History of Human Kind by Yuval Noah Harari
#9. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
#10. On The Road by Jack Kerouac
